Lexie Dorsett Sharp is the Head of our Vocal program and is proudly certified in the patented AMMethod of voice and exclusively teaches in Amy Murphy Vocal Method. Whatever your vocal goals, Lexie prides herself in helping clients find a sustainable, healthy way of singing that celebrates your own unique voice while giving you the tools to sing in your optimum sound. Lexie knows that the voice is a personal and sacred gift, and treating you with the utmost vocal care while having a blast during lessons is the ultimate goal! Sharp Studios believes lessons should be joyous, productive, and goal-oriented to get the most out of your vocal training.
Lexie is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and is a proud graduate of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she received a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre.
Professionally, Lexie has toured as the leading lady Rosalie Mullins in the First National Tour of School of Rock, Elizabeth Benning in the National Tour of Young Frankenstein the Musical, Emily Hobbs in ELF the musical and as a Morticia replacement/Alice cover in the International tour of The Addams Family Musical.
Lexie’s vocals can be found on several new works albums. Lexie has also performed with both the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
She's also had the pleasure of teaching Musical Theatre at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The class included instruction on audition technique, acting through song, and culminated in the first ever musical theatre showcase at U.A.B.
